Rapper Shawty Lo killed in fiery crash

ATLANTA, GA – An Atlanta rapper was killed in a fiery crash early Wednesday morning, WSB-TV reports.

According to Fulton County police, Carlos Walker, aka Shawty Lo, crashed his 2016 Audi over a guardrail at approximately 2:52 a.m. The car hit several trees and caught fire.

Police told WSB-TV that the 40-year-old rapper was ejected from his vehicle and died from injuries sustained in the crash at the scene.

There were two women passengers in the car, and they suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The rapper’s manager confirmed the news to WSB-TV, and a statement was tweeted out from his account.

Shawty Lo founded the group D4L in 2003; they’re best known for hits “Laffy Taffy” and “Scotty.”

In 2007, Shawty Lo released the single “Dey Know” which was a huge hit.
