Report: Tension between Pacers’ Stephenson, Turner led to fight before playoffs

INDIANAPOLIS (April 23, 2014) – The Indiana Pacers finally resembled the dominant team fans saw before the All-Star break Tuesday night, but a new report claims tensions are running high in the locker room.

According to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, teammates had to separate Evan Turner and Lance Stephenson after an argument turned into a fistfight at practice. It happened on Friday as the team prepared for its first playoff game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Sources told Yahoo Sports that Luis Scola and David West had to stop the fight between Turner and Stephenson, whose prickly nature is well known among teammates and fans.

The team came out flat in Game 1 of the series, losing to Atlanta 101-93. They recovered for Game 2, evening the series at a game apiece after a dominant second half.
