Indianapolis-based Republic Airways is getting rid of a big chunk of its business. The company has agreed to sell Frontier Airways.

Our partners at the Indianapolis Business Journal say the deal is worth about $145 million.

A company led by a veteran airline executive is buying Republic.

Republic bought Frontier in 2011 when Frontier was in bankruptcy.

Now that the company has become profitable, Republic is selling.

The deal should be finalized in December.
