WINSTON-SALEM, NC (August 4, 2014) – A restaurant in North Carolina is offering a fifteen percent discount to anyone seen praying in public.

Mary Haugland, owner of Mary’s Gourmet Diner, enjoys watching people give thanks before they eat.

So much so that she is willing to give discounts to those who take time to do so.

According to FoxNews.com, it’s not a promoted discount and the wait staff is under no obligation to give it out.

Customers seen “having a moment” get a ticket with fifteen percent off their order, no matter who or what they believe in.

Haugland emphasizes that it’s not about religion, it’s about being thankful.

“A lot of people on the internet right now have a lot of negative things to say about it.  It’s Christian, or it’s this, or it’s that. It’s not. It’s just an attitude of gratitude,” says Haugland.

FoxNews.com reports that many customers enjoy Haglund’s decision because it brings an energy of “open-heartedness.”
