INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - Hundreds of shoppers hit the stores for the annual Black Friday frenzy. Getting the best deals on electronics, toys, and whatever else they could get their hands on.
“They have Thanksgiving dinner and then all of a sudden customers come in drovers. We have everybody out here. It is insane,” says hhgregg general manager Kyle Schroeder.
Representatives from the National Retail Federation say this year; retailers are hoping holiday sales go up to 3.7%. That would add up to more than $ 630 billion spent this season.
Stores expect that bump in sales to come from shoppers who are buying electronics.
“The best pricing of the year that you will find at any retailer is on Black Friday,” says Schroeder.
Retail experts say the low prices can save people thousands of dollars, especially if they are buying in bulk like the Green family who lost everything when their Far East side home went up in flames earlier this year.
“We had to replace everything. We bought spoons, forks, we do not have any plates and we don’t have any clothes,” says Jennifer Green.
The Green family credits Black Friday’s low prices as the reason they could get everything that they need this holiday season.
“We have spent over $10,000 in the past 2 days,” says Green.
Retail experts say this is the perfect time to do all of your shopping.
“The prices that we have this time of year, the selection that we have this time of year, the ordering is incredible,” says Schroeder
