You can score some free food from Chick-fil-A on Tuesday, but you’ll have to work for it.
Tuesday, July 12, marks the chain’s annual Cow Appreciation Day. Customers who show up dressed as a cow get a free entrée.
The promotion runs at participating stores from opening through 7 p.m. Customers can choose from the breakfast, lunch or dinner menu. Kids can pick from the kids menu.
The day is in honor of the company’s cows, which are used prominently in Chick-fil-A’s advertising. The cows debuted on their first billboard in 1995 and made their first TV appearance in 1997. Since then they’ve been a staple of the company’s advertising, encouraging customers to skip burgers and “eat mor chikin.”
The first Cow Appreciation Day was held in 2005.
