INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A security guard is recovering after being shot outside a bar overnight.

The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. on the 7500 block of N Shadeland Ave. Police say the suspect in the shooting was a patron of the bar who was asked to leave. After leaving the bar, the suspect went to his car, where he was asked by the security guard to leave the premises. He then shot the security guard, who was wearing a protective vest.

A police report shows the guard was taken to an area hospital with possible internal injuries. He was listed in good condition.
