Subway employee critically injured after shooting at restaurant on Indy's northeast side


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after an employee was shot during a robbery at a Subway restaurant on the city’s Northeast side.

The IMPD said officers responded to the 8900 block of East 38th Street just after 6:30 Friday evening. When police arrived, they found a female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses say the shooting happened after a suspect came in with a weapon. Someone inside the store got into an altercation with the suspect, during which the suspect fired a shot that hit the employee.
