Silver Alert canceled; children found safe

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Police canceled a Silver Alert for two young girls missing from South Bend.

Indiana State Police issued the Silver Alert around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday for the 1-year-old and 6-year-old girls who were believed to be with a 31-year-old man. At the time, police feared the girls may be in danger.

ISP canceled the alert less than two hours later at the request of South Bend police, who said the girls were safe and the man was not in custody.
