Man faces charges after missing Richmond woman found safe

RICHMOND, Ind.– A man is facing several charges following the declaration of a Silver Alert.

Just before 9 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 8000 block of Jennings Road in Wayne County on a report of a crash with injuries. The caller said while trying to help the victims, a man in the car displayed a knife and threatened the caller.

The suspect, 38-year-old Travis Lee, then pulled a woman from the car and dragged her to a wooded area.  A Silver Alert was issued for Sommer Lee, 30, and crews searched for her overnight. They are husband and wife.

The next morning, Lee was found at a home and taken to a hospital for evaluation. She was later released with minor injuries.

Just before 11 a.m., officers found Travis Lee in the 7900 block of Cart Road and took him into custody following a short pursuit. He now faces charges of aggravated battery, criminal confinement, intimidation, strangulation and resisting law enforcement. Additional charges are expected.
