Sleeping woman injured when SUV slams into house in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, Ind. —A Plainfield woman was sleeping when a suspected drunk driver crashed into her home.

A white SUV slammed into the north side of a home located off Elm Drive around 1 a.m.

No one was in the SUV when police arrived, but later they found the driver walking around the neighborhood.

He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The results of the blood test are pending, and he hasn’t been arrested yet.

The woman sleeping in the home suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews treated her at the scene.
