INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 7, 2016)--Good Sunday afternoon! Temperatures climbed into the low 50s today with a gusty southwest wind. Clouds have built in through the day and we'll see a mostly cloudy sky overnight. As a trough of low pressure digs down across the Midwest expect a slight chance of a rain/snow mix overnight. The best chance of snow will arrive Monday morning.

RPM 4 km Precip Type

Snow showers will move in from the west with Indy likely seeing snow as we approach the 7 a.m. hour. Heads up to all morning travelers that roads will quickly deteriorate in heavier snow bursts. Road surfaces are still rather warm as of Sunday afternoon but much colder air will continue to move in overnight with air temperatures below freezing expected Monday morning. It won't take much to cause problems. Snow squalls look to develop Monday afternoon and will produce rapid changes in visibility with areas of blowing snow as winds gust to 20 and 25 mph.

It's possible that Indy and much of central Indiana sees 1-2 inches of snow through Tuesday morning. Highs Monday will only reach the low 30s.

Meteogram Temperature

Snow showers will continue as pieces of energy rotate around the low pressure to our north through Wednesday. We'll keep you updated with additional totals as we get new information. Plan on much colder air mid-week with highs only in the teens on Wednesday. Single-digit lows will greet us Wednesday and Thursday morning. Another clipper system looks to arrive next Friday so we'll also keep our eyes on that. An additional snow chance moves in Sunday evening just in time for Valentine's Day. --Danielle Dozier
