INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 15, 2013) — A grieving mother gives a heartfelt plea to anyone who knows who killed her son to come forward. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says Anthony Warren, 15, died after he was shot twice outside of a northwest side apartment complex Saturday. Now, his family is hoping for justice.

His mother, Nikkita Milledge, says Anthony played for a youth football league here in Pike Township, was a state champion and placed second in the state several times.

“I just want whoever killed Anthony Warren or knows who killed Anthony Warren to just give the information to the police so my son can have justice for what happened to him,” said Milledge.

When Warren left home Friday, Milledge had no idea it would be the last time she’d see her son. She says her son went to go visit a friend, and was going to be dropped off on Saturday.

“Saturday afternoon, I hadn’t heard from him and I called him at about 1:48 and he didn’t’ answer his phone. I later found out that at 1:48 Anthony was already dead. He had died at 1 o’clock,” Milledge said.

There was a 911 call for gunshots heard near an apartment complex at 56th and Georgetown. Once officers arrived, they found Anthony Warren dead after being shot twice.

“He loves everybody around the house. He takes care of everybody,” said Johnny Milledge, Anthony’s brother.

Johnny Milledge is coping with the pain of losing his big brother Anthony by remembering some of the things they did together.

“Outside playing basketball, because he loved basketball. He thinks he’s a hooper,” Milledge said.

Memories are all they have now.

“Just hope he’s good in heaven right now, looking down on us,” Milledge said.

Funeral services for Anthony Warren are pending. Metro police are investigating and looking for those responsible for this.
