Fishers police search for suspect in attempted armed robbery

FISHERS, Ind.(Oct. 22, 2013)—The Fishers Police Department is searching for a suspect in an attempted strong armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning.

The victim called 911 to report the robbery at the Deer Brook Apartment Complex, near the intersection of Deer Brook Drive and Falling Brook Drive, around 7 a.m. He told police the suspect indicated he had a gun but never displayed a weapon.

The victim did not have any money, so the suspect fled the scene towards Allisonville Road. The victim was unharmed.

Fishers police set up a perimeter and searched the area with a K-9 unit.  During the search, the Allisonville Meadows retirement community and the Riverside Intermediate and Junior High schools were placed on lockdown.

Police continue to search for the suspect, who was described to be a while male between the ages of 20 to 30.  He was wearing a dark-color hoodie and pants.

Authorities would like to speak with residents of the Deer Brook Apartment Complex who may have been outside this morning.
