Student suspended as deputies investigate threat at Miami County school

MIAMI COUNTY (Nov. 21, 2014) – North Miami Middle/High School was on precautionary lockdown Friday as authorities investigated a threat involving a student.

According to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, school officials contacted investigators about a middle school student who’d threatened retaliation against other students.

Investigators interviewed the student and a parent Thursday night. The student was suspended pending the results of the investigation, the department said.

Additional sheriff’s deputies and Indiana State Police troopers were brought to the school Friday as a precaution.

The case remains under investigation.
