INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 20, 2015) – During this cold snap, summer feels like it is very far away. But, summer camps are already getting applications. Coordinators say now is the time to determine your child’s summer plans.
A big summer camp fair is taking place this weekend at the Fashion Mall. Indy’s Child is organizing the fair, which is now in its 26th year. The fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
“It’s a great opportunity for parents to get to talk to camp directors and ask questions and see if it’s a right fit for their kids,” said Wendy Cox, event coordinator.
Cox said delaying camp enrollment can really cut down your options.
“If you wait they’re going to fill up,“ Cox said. “These camps fill up way before summer. If you want a spot you need to think about it now in February.”
Organizers expect to have about 55 different camps represented at the fair. They said parents should not let the price of a summer camp discourage them from doing some research.
“They can get pretty expensive we have camps ranging in price range and a lot of these camps offer financial aid or scholarship opportunities.”
