GREENWOOD (December 7, 2014) — Greenwood police, Indianapolis Metropolitan police and federal marshals arrested a man in connection with a shooting early Saturday morning.

Police say gunfire erupted in the street outside a home on Tanglewood Dr., in the Imperial Hill subdivision, shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday.

Detectives say 20-year-old Lewis Grimes of Indianapolis went to the neighborhood to sell drugs and shot his customer instead.

The teen victim was wounded in the face.

Grimes is being held in the Johnson County Jail on three charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Neighbors in that community say they have been the victims of at least six burglaries in the past couple of weeks.

Greenwood police will try to determine if there is a connection between the break-ins and the shooting.
