Suspect tries to escape police by jumping into pond after stolen car leads to chase

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 19, 2015) – Indianapolis Metropolitan police made an arrest after a man’s car was stolen early Thursday morning on the northwest side.

According to IMPD, the man was warming up his car when two people got inside and took off. A brief chase ensued.

Police quickly located the stolen car and apprehended one of the suspects. The man tried to evade police by jumping into a retention pond. Officers found him at an apartment off 71st Street and Marshbury Way and took him into custody.
