INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police have notified the Department of Homeland Security after someone found a notebook filled with images police characterized as suspicious.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, someone left the notebook inside a weight room at the Capital Center on North Illinois Street over the weekend.

The notebook contained several names and references to “rocket launchers, AK-47s, Remington 700 sniper rifles, Ruger pistols, swords, etc.” Also inside was a drawing of a Nazi emblem as well as a drawing of what appeared to be “a plane with a bomb appearing to be flying into what might be the north tower” of the building, the report said.

The property managers said they would use surveillance video and keycard records to identify who was responsible for leaving the notebook behind. Each keycard is individually assigned, the report said.

Police photographed the notebook and sent it to the IMPD property room.
