INDIANAPOLIS (April 20, 2015) – A SWAT situation came to a peaceful end early Monday morning on the near east side of Indianapolis.

IMPD officers were serving a warrant near Maryland Street and State Avenue for a 20-year-old man matching the description of a rape and robbery suspect. Officers saw the man holding a rifle at the home and set-up a perimeter after the man refused to come out of the home.

Around 3:15 a.m., officers called SWAT team members to provide backup. Around 4 a.m., the standoff ended peacefully.

Police said there were four adults inside the home, including the suspect, along with two children, ages 11 and 12. No one was hurt.
