Crawfordsville Police have ended a standoff with a man wanted on a warrant who refused to come out of an RV at the Crawfordsville KOA Campgrounds.

Police arrived at the campgrounds around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon when they saw that the man in question, James Harral, was in an RV, pulling out of the campgrounds.

Police blocked the entrance to U.S. 231 North and asked Harral to leave the RV.  He refused, but a woman and her son who were also in the RV came out.

The female told police Harral was “going to have a few beers and wasn’t coming out.”

At that time the SWAT team was called to the scene as well as Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police.

SWAT negotiators attempted to get Harral to come out and when he refused, they used force and brought the subject into custody just before 5 p.m.

Harral was taken to Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health where he was treated for minor injuries.
