Teacher accused of sexual misconduct with student found not guilty

SHELBYVILLE, Ind.—A Shelbyville middle school teacher who faced several charges including sexual misconduct with a minor was found not guilty to all charges against her Wednesday.

In early August 2012, Bethany Appleton, 28, was arrested on several counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, maintaining a common nuisance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Appleton was released from her teaching duties at Shelbyville Central Schools in August 2012 after the allegations surfaced.
