LAFAYETTE, In. (December 27th, 2014) — A teen driver in Lafayette crashed into a building early Saturday morning after he failed to stop for a State Trooper who saw him driving without any headlights.
Around 12:42 a.m., Trooper Stephen Grayson was east bound on Greenbush Street at 14th Street in his marked state police car when he saw a 2005 Jeep without any headlights on.
Grayson turned his police car around after the Jeep’s driver.
The Jeep failed to stop and accelerated away at a high rate of speed, disregarding a stop sign. The Jeep then lost control and crashed into a building.
The driver, a 16 year old male from Lafayette, was transported to Saint Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette with non-life threatening injuries.
Charges are pending.
