HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (October 29, 2014) – Three fire departments were called to the scene of a house fire in Westfield Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 1:44 a.m. near the intersection of State Road 32 and Eagletown Road.

When Westfield fire crews arrived at the scene, the fire was fully involved and the house collapsed less than 15 minutes later.

Westfield Fire Chief Joe Lyons said there are no hydrants in the area, forcing them to shuttle water to the scene with the department’s tankers.

The Zionsville Fire Department and the Sheridan Fire Department were called in for assistance.

The fire was under control at about 2:20 a.m., but hot spots continued to flare up through 4:30 a.m.

The house was vacant and no one was injured, according to Lyons.
