INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A crime trend we’ve been following hits a family passing through Indianapolis after spending time in Florida. The Lentinos were heading home to Illinois after spending the winter in Florida, when someone stole their trailer during the night while they were asleep at a hotel.

They say they had almost their entire life packed into that trailer and they’re hoping someone calls police with a tip on where it could be.

“It’s like a nightmare almost,” said Joshua Lentino.

He, along with his wife, Esther, and their one-year-old daughter Daisy are now back home in Illinois, but without much.

“All our possessions, all our clothes, mine, my wife’s, my daughter’s,” said Joshua, “my father’s stuff was in there, he was travelling with us as well.”

The family had spent the night at the Candlewood Suites on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

IMPD is investigating, but this is not the first time we’ve seen trailers targeted. Authorities say trailers are common targets for thieves—if not for the trailer itself, then for the contents inside.

The Lentinos are hoping someone around Indianapolis knows who did this and decides to do the right thing by calling police.

“Get the word out, if you know who did it, contact us,” said Joshua, “I mean, that’s our life in that trailer.”

You’re asked to call IMPD if you have any information on where the trailer could be. In the meantime, a GoFundMe.com page has been set up to help the family.
