Woman killed in early morning Martinsville fire

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (January 20, 2014) – A woman was killed in an early morning Martinsville house fire Monday.

Crews arrived to the house in the 1600 block of Victor Drive around 3:36 a.m. after a neighbor called for help.

A husband and wife were in the house at the time. The woman, Anna Paul, was airlifted to Eskenazi in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

Paul’s autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Fire officials said the fire started in the back. Damage is estimated at $70,000.
