INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ( Oct. 29, 2014)– Two people were shot on the near west side of Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of N. Traub Ave., after a school bus driver called 911 and reported hearing shots fired and then saw a man running from a house holding his stomach.

At 3:05 p.m., officers received another call of two people shot in the 1100 block of N. Elder Ave.  When officers arrived they found one man on the ground in the backyard of a house with a gunshot wound to the stomach.  EMS pronounced the man dead on the scene.

Another man was found with a gunshot wound to his leg.  He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in unknown condition.

Investigators believe the shooting incident took place inside a house on N. Traub Ave. The male ran from that location before collapsing at the house on N. Elder Ave., where he died.  The other male was driven to that house after the shooting by an uninvolved person.

A third person shot was dropped off at Eskenazi Hospital after this incident claiming to have suffered a gunshot wound.  Police have not determined if that person is connected to this incident.
