INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 19, 2014) – Two people were shot when multiple shots were fired at a northeast side shooting Monday morning.

Officers were called to the scene in the 4100 block of Edgemere Court around 1:10 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

When officers got there they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach.

He was awake and breathing and transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital.

A second victim showed up at Methodist suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg approximately ten minutes after the shots were fired.

The Ten Point Coalition also came to the scene.

“I just heard a whole lot of gunshots and I just thought it was fireworks at first. But then I’m like, OK, somebody got shot. I heard somebody yelling like, ‘Help me, help me!'” said a neighbor.

“It happened so fast I’m still shaking because I’ve never seen nothing like that before.”

Witnesses said they saw a white truck speeding away shortly after the shooting.

Officers are investigating if the truck is related to the crime and are asking anyone with information about the shootings to call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
