INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 8, 2016) — How high will it go?
That’s the question many are asking after Saturday’s record Powerball jackpot swelled to $800 million. It was already the largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, and has continued to go up since Wednesday’s drawing failed to produce a winner. Swift sales nationwide are driving up the jackpot, according to Hoosier Lottery officials.
The deadline to buy tickets in Indiana is 9:58 p.m. The drawing is Saturday at 10:59 p.m. on FOX59.
Tickets cost $2 and are available at more than 4,400 retail locations around Indiana. Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Odds of winning are 1 in 292 million.
