INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 2, 2014)– Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were on the scene of a double shooting on the city’s east side late Tuesday night.
Officers responded to the 2900 block of East Michigan Street just before 10 p.m. Police believe the shooting may have stemmed from an attempted home invasion. The shooting took place inside the house, and police said it appeared to be drug-related.
Police say one victim was shot in the head and taken to Eskenazi Health in critical condition. The other victim was shot in the shoulder, and was awake and talking while also being taken to Eskenazi.
The victim who was shot in the shoulder has a bullet lodged in their spine.
Police tell FOX59 the home was a known source of drug activity, and the two victims shot were known to be involved with drugs.
