Voter registration deadline Monday, early voting set to start in Marion Co.

INDIANAPOLIS (April 7, 2014) – Voter registration ends Monday for Hoosiers while absentee voting begins Tuesday.

Starting April 8, any eligible voter can cast an absentee ballot in-person at their county clerk’s office or request an absentee ballot by mail.

Voters who go the absentee route have until noon on May 5 to cast their ballot. Hoosiers wanting to vote by mail can request an absentee ballot at or from their county clerk’s office. Request for absentee ballots by mail must be delivered by April 28.

In 2012, 120,000 voters cast absentee ballots, according to Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson. Military families should remind those overseas to request an absentee ballot.

Marion County officials remind voters that early voting at the Marion County Clerk’s Office begins Tuesday, April 8, at 8 a.m. Early voting will be available there from April 8 through April 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be extended hours (until 7 p.m.) during the week of April 28. Weekend voting will also be available April 26 and April 27 as well as May 3 and May 4.

Primary elections are Tuesday, May 6.
