West Lafayette man charged with rape, criminal confinement

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A West Lafayette man was charged with rape and criminal confinement Wednesday.

Early that morning, the victim of the alleged rape told the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office that they were sexually assaulted by 27-year-old Robert J. Rudolph in the western part of the county.

The victim’s report prompted an investigation, which led to the arrest of Rudolph. He was booked into the Tippecanoe County jail around 1 p.m. There was no bond at the time of the arrest.

The investigation is on-going.
