WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. — A man is expected to be okay after nearly drowning at an apartment complex pool.

According to a press release on the West Lafayette Police Department Facebook page, Office Jeff Dunscomb was completing an investigation at the Williamsburg Apartments when he was alerted to a problem at the pool.

Ofc. Dunscomb found a man at the bottom of the deep end of the pool and began to attempt to rescue the man using a rescue pole.

A few minutes later Office David Smith arrived. Ofc. Smith removed his duty gear and entered the water.

After two attempts, Ofc. Smith brough the man to the surface where he and Ofc. Dunscomb began CPR.

The man was taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
