Two people airlifted to hospital after serious crash on I-70 in Hancock County

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. – Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a serious crash in Hancock County.

The crash occurred around 1:10 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-70 near State Road 9. Police say a car was traveling eastbound when it crossed the center median and flipped several times.

Two people were trapped inside the car. They were extricated and flown by air ambulance to the hospital.

Investigators do not know why the driver crossed the center line.
