INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Buying or selling a home is a big decision. Fox59 / CBS4 has partnered with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Indiana Realty to bring you the latest real estate news in Central Indiana.
This summer, the real estate market was hot. According to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Indiana Realty Agent Dave Deno, now that we’re approaching fall, the momentum is changing. “Activity slows in the fall, so you’re seeing some price reductions in the market right now,” Deno said. “We saw a dip in buyer activity at the start of school a few weeks ago, and that’s typical, but now, we’re starting to see it pick up again.”
If you’re thinking of buying or selling home now that we’re moving into fall, there are a few things you should consider. “First of all, make sure your home is priced right,” Deno said. “Make sure your home has a fresh look to it. That includes raking the leaves, and putting a fresh coat of paint on the trim, or the front door.” Deno also recommends taking the feedback from showings seriously. “Many buyers don’t want projects, so see if you can address a few issues that potential buyers see,” Deno said.
It’s also important to work with an agent during the home buying or selling process. Trusted advisors add expertise to your experience. Working with an agent right when you start the process, can help so they get to know your wants and needs. “We take our clients trust in us very seriously and have conversations early in the process to better understand what is important to them,” Deno said. “Our goal is to help you get through one of the most important financial transactions you’ll ever make, and that takes trust, market knowledge, negotiating skills, and creative marketing.”
