ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — Shoppers at a Zionsville Kroger were doe-tally surprised to see a deer hoofing it around the store Saturday.

Somehow, the deer found its way into the Kroger near West Oak Street & North Ford Road.

Viewers said the deer appeared to be injured and was bleeding from the nose as a result of bumping into things.

Eventually, the animal was able to exit the store on its own.

Kroger released the following statement regarding the incident:

The store did have a surprise visitor last night, entering through the front door. After the deer left, the manager and store team performed a thorough cleaning of the area.

I hope, in her time near the meat case, the deer noticed our expanded selection of plant based protein products.
