INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A documentary chronicling the journey of singing duo Joey and Rory Feek will hit theaters this week for a limited run in select theaters.
Joey Feek died March 4 after a two-year battle with cancer. She stopped treatments after learning it was terminal and spent her last days in her Hoosier hometown of Alexandria.
Her husband, Rory, chronicled their lives together on a blog. The 2010 Academy of Country Music Top New Vocal Duo put their music career aside and spent their time taking care of their daughter as Joey fought an inspiring battle to get the most out of life.
“A film about our lives during that two-and-a-half years. Our love. Our struggles. And even more so, about our faith in God and our hope in a plan… bigger than the one we can see with our own eyes,” Rory wrote about the documentary.
He said the film brought him to tears and shared it with Joey’s family, who said they cried and “felt the power of watching her come to life again.”
“To Joey, With Love” will have a limited theatrical run on Tuesday, Sept. 20, and Thursday, Oct. 6.
