REDDING, Calif. (March 7, 2016) – Police are on the lookout for the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo.
A California woman led them on a high speed chase in a minivan painted to look like the famed vehicle from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, according to KRCR. This started just after noon on Sunday when a probation officer informed the Redding Police Department that Sharon Kay Turman, 51, was wanted on a probation violation.
Police found her a short time later in the “Mystery Machine,” but instead of pulling over, she took off. The pursuit continued through major roads and highways, police said, before Turman hit four other vehicles while running a red light at an intersection.
Multiple agencies and a helicopter from the California Highway Patrol were tracking her route, but Turman got out of the van and ran away.
As of Monday morning, police were still looking for her.
