INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 6, 2014)– A woman was robbed while sitting in her car by several masked suspects.

On Oct. 29 at around 12:15 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to 1302 N. Meridian St. on a report of a strong-arm robbery.

The victim reported being robbed by five suspects while sitting in her vehicle on the parking lot of the Hoosier Lottery office on the southwest corner of West 13th and North Meridian streets.

The victim said that a black female in a camo jacket and painted facemask grabbed the victim by the hair and threw her to the ground outside of her van. The female suspect with a mask, pink and gray hoodie and teal pants took the victim’s purse and cell phone.

Before the woman was robbed in front of the Hoosier Lottery, the same  group of what appears to be masked teenagers allegedly  smashed out the window of a moving car.

“I noticed it was young girls throwing rocks at my car,” said Aquita.

At first, she thought somebody crashed into her car, but later realized that her window was smashed out from rocks.

“It’s the same girls. They had started uploading pictures of them and their masks,” said Aquita.

Pictures of the masked group allegedly appeared online. Aquita and her friend, Shanitra Doss recognized the pictures.  They say the people who threw the rocks matched the description of the pictures online.

“Honestly, I hope that you get caught and l learn your lesson. You  need to be in school. Life is too short to be playing these petty games. You aren’t   going to make it out here doing all that. You are going to end up in prison somewhere,” said Doss.

The suspects began to walk away westbound after the incident but were confronted by an armed witness, who demanded the victim’s property back. The suspects ran off.

The video above was recorded from inside the victim’s vehicle.  Anyone with any information about the suspects can call 317-327-3733. Those wishing to remain anonymous are urged to call Crime Stoppers of Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
