Indianapolis firefighters responded to the near northeast side early Thursday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, a resident of a home in the 2800 block of North Lasalle Street woke up to use the bathroom around 1:30 a.m., but found a fire in her bedroom.
She woke up her mother and father-in-law and the group left the house before calling 911.
When firefighters arrived they found smoke coming from the home and heavy fire inside.
It took them about 25 minutes to bring the fire under control. IFD officials said the fire did about $40,000 dollars in damage.
There were no injuries to the residents or firefighters.
The resident who discovered the fire told investigators they had been experiencing electrical issues.
