After executing a search warrant, police are calling this a homicide investigation. Police now say Klug is a “person of interest” in the case.

UPDATE:

The Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team remains on the scene of a west side apartment where a woman was found dead. Police were executing a search warrant and are now looking for a resident at that apartment complex.

Police need help finding 36-year-old Ryan Allen Klug of Columbus. He’s likely driving a 2008 gray Subaru with Indiana plate 357BPC. He’s not been identified and/or classified as a suspect in the case. Detectives hope he can provide additional details about the woman found dead at the apartment. PREVIOUSLY:

COLUMBUS, Ind. (Nov. 19, 2013)– Columbus Police are investigating a death reported on the city’s west side Tuesday afternoon.

The Columbus Police Department has activated the multi-agency death investigation team Tuesday in response to the death of a female located in an apartment on the west side of Columbus.  CPD Officers were called to the apartment after employees of the apartment complex found the female unresponsive.  Paramedics along with other first responders arrived on the scene and were quickly able to determine that the female was deceased.

Responding officers immediately secured the apartment, CPD detectives were called to the scene at which time the death investigation team was activated.  Detectives are currently in the process of obtaining a search warrant for the apartment.

The death investigation team consists of the following agencies: Columbus Police Department, Indiana State Police, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office.

This investigation is in a very early stage, we will continue to update this story as details become available.
