INDIANAPOLIS – To make it to their first state championship game since 2012, Ben Davis needed to have quite a few good plays.

That was especially true when the trailed very early in their Semi State game against Center Grove.

While they made many of them in a 49-45 comeback victory over the Trojans to advance to the Class 6A State Championship Game-only one was good enough to be SPUDtacular.

Ben Davis receiver Brennan Gillis’ fingertip, back of the endzone touchdown catch was voted by you the fans as the McAlister’s SPUDtacular Play of the Week award.

It’s the second time that a Giants player has come home with the award. Linebacker Jailyn Harden also took home the award in the first week of the playoffs.
