INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NFL’s oldest active player continues to show how it’s done.

Indianapolis Colts placekicker Adam Vinatieri, 43 and in his 21st season, has been named the AFC’s Special Teams Player of the Month for October. In five games, he converted all 12 of his field-goal attempts and all 14 PATs for 49 points.

Vinatieri’s perfect October enabled him to stretch his streak of consecutive made field goals to 43, breaking Mike Vanderjagt’s league record.

It marks the second time Vinatieri has won the monthly award while with the Colts and the fifth time in his career. He was recognized in November 2015, and three times with the New England Patriots – November 2004, September 1999 and October 1998.
