INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On the Friday night high school football began again in Central Indiana, two plays stood out as the best of the bunch. Now, your vote will determine the winner of our FasTrack Mechanical Play of the Week.
PLAY #1: Monrovia’s Aaron Cravens
Monrovia found themselves protecting a one-point lead late in the fourth quarter with Cardinal Ritter driving. The Raiders threw the ball over the middle for what looked to be a solid gain, but Cravens came up huge, stripping the ball from the receiver as a Bulldog teammate fell on the loose ball. The play secured an 18-17 win for Monrovia, opening up the 2016 season as reigning champs in class 2A.
PLAY #2: Chatard's Graham Jaeger
In the first quarter, reigning 3A State Champions Bishop Chatard quarterback Billy Dury dropped to pass and lofted a ball to the sideline toward his receiver Graham Jaeger. Jaeger had a step on his defender as the ball fell right into his hands for a great gain, but Jaeger wasn't done. He shook his defender loose and scampered down the sideline for a 60-yard score, part of a 23-3 Trojan victory.
