Gerard Butler will say ‘start your engines’ at Daytona 500

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 21, 2016) — Gerard Butler will be the man to give the command “start your engines” at this today’s Daytona 500. The actor will serve as grand marshal and take part in other pre-race ceremonies.

Butler, who is in the upcoming movie “London Has Fallen,” will attend other pre-race ceremonies and ride in one of the grand marshal cars during the pace laps before the green flag is waved to start the race.

Other celebrities taking part in the pre-rae events include ex-baseball star Ken Griffey Jr. and WWE star and actor John Cena.
