BLOOMINGTON (Oct. 13, 2014) – It’s the end of the season for Nate Sudfeld.

The Indiana University quarterback will miss the rest of the year after separating his left shoulder in Saturday’s loss to Iowa. Head coach Kevin Wilson said Sudfeld, a junior, will have surgery to fix the injury on his non-throwing shoulder.

The Hoosiers lost to Iowa 45-29 Saturday, and never recovered after Sudfeld went down in the second quarter. They take on No. 8 Michigan State this week.

The Hoosiers (3-3, 0-2 Big Ten) turned to freshman Chris Covington, who was recruited as a linebacker and switched to quarterback in the spring. Covington struggled in relief of Sudfeld, finishing 3-of-12 for 31 yards and two interceptions. He carried 11 times for 41 yards.
