INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Mavericks picked Purdue center A.J. Hammons in the second round of the NBA Draft with the 46th overall pick.
Hammons averaged 12.1 points per game in his four seasons in West Lafayette. He’s the first Boilermaker drafted since Robbie Hummel in 2012.
Indiana’s Yogi Ferrell and Troy Williams went undrafted. Ferrell told Indy Sports Central on Wednesday he was hearing he would be picked in the early or middle part of the second round.
Former Hoosier standout Victor Oladipo was part of a draft night trade. The Magic traded the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft along with Domantas Sabonis and Ersan Ilyasova to the Thunder for Serge Ibaka.
The Celtics selected Notre Dame point guard Demetrius Jackson with the 45th overall pick.
