INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Pacers are trading one Indianapolis native for another. Hawks guard Jeff Teague is coming to Indiana and George Hill will go to Utah in a three-way deal between the Hawks, Pacers and Jazz, according to IndyStar’s Nate Taylor.
Teague is a Pike High School graduate. He played at Wake Forest from 2007 to 2009 before being selected by the Hawks as the 19th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft.
Hill graduated from Broad Ripple High School. He played for IUPUI from 2004 to 2008. He was drafted by the San Anotnio Spurs, and he returned to his hometown to play for the Pacers in 2011.
Sources tell the IndyStar that Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey was eager to acquire Hill, whom the Spurs drafted when Lindsey was San Antonio’s assistant GM in 2008.
The Pacers have yet to confirm the trade.
