INDIANAPOLIS – Peyton Manning is back in town.
The former Colts quarterback attended a private event earlier today at St.Vincent Sports Performance, 8227 Northwest Blvd. #160, Indianapolis, to celebrate young philanthropists who make up Team Peyton All-Stars and True Hero Ambassadors.
The two programs support Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent.
Team Peyton All Stars is a school fundraising program created to inspire kids to become philanthropists and leaders in their communities. The program began in the fall of 2012 and has since raised more than $118,000 for Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent.
Former and existing patients at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital also attended the private event. They serve as True Hero Ambassadors for St.Vincent by sharing their personal health journeys to raise awareness about childhood illnesses, and provide inspiration to others.
During the 2-hour celebratory event, Manning spent time getting to know each child – interacting in a series of activity stations.
“Each of you are making a difference by being a part of Team Peyton,” said Peyton Manning during the closed event at St.Vincent Sports Performance. “Thank you for all you have done to help make this a great children’s hospital.”
Manning and his wife, Ashley, will serve as honorary chairpersons at the 7th Annual Celebration of Caring Gala on Saturday, April 26, 2014. American country music artist Jake Owen will perform at the private children’s hospital fundraising event. Through the support of the Manning family, the Celebration of Caring Gala has raised more than $5.1 million for the children’s hospital since its inaugural year in 2008.
