INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– The Colts are trading cornerback Nate Hairston to the New York Jets.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the move. It was later confirmed by the Jets.
Trade: Jets dealing a 2020 6th-round pick to the Colts for CB Nate Hairston, per source. Hairston started 11 games the past two years. Still has two years left on his contract.

In return, the Colts will get the Jets’ 6th-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The deal is pending a physical.
Shefter reports Hairston’s contract runs for two more years.
Hairston was a fifth-rounder out of Temple in 2017 and played in 27 games with the Colts, including 11 starts. He has one career interception and two sacks. He also dealt with various injuries during his first two NFL seasons.
Jets assistant general manager Rex Hogan has familiarity with Hairston after being in the Colts’ front office the past two years.
The Jets need depth at the cornerback spot and general manager Joe Douglas said last week the team would be busy trying to upgrade the roster through waiver claims, signings and trades.
The Colts were pretty well set at the cornerback position in terms of depth, so FOX59’s Mike Chappell says this seems like a good move.
